When Diplo and Switch released Guns Don’t Kill People … Lazers Do, it was the madcap, digital dancehall, hip-hop, club assault of summer 2009 yielding the hits “Hold The Line”, “Keep It Goin Louder” and “Pon De Flor” which they later re-recorded with Beyoncé for “Run The World (Girls)”. Their new LP due in September raises the bar on crazy says Diplo, “it’s the craziest record of all time”, featuring collabs with Wyclef Jean and Bruno Mars. The first single eases us in with some freaky Caribbean chill-out with lovely vocals by Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors. UK drum & bass maverick Andy C rips it up with a roaring mix and Brazil’s Bonde do Rolê brings on the Carioca electro-funk.
6/23/12 – just added is the Maxi Exclusive DJ Paulette & Benjamin Franklin Remix that weaves killer house peaks into the digi-reggae chorus.
