Here are some answers to your burning Maxi Promotion questions
WHY AM I HAVING TROUBLE LOGGING IN!
The Maxi site was updated to a new format in September 2009 so here are a few tricks to help your initial login run smooth. Your username is your email address and your password remains the same but if that does not work please try resetting your password through the “login link” up top. This should work. An email goes out to you giving you a new password and once in you can reset it to anything in “edit profile”.
Here are some other things to be aware of.
If you recently changed your email address, we may not have it. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your new email and we will reset it on the site
The site is case sensitive so please check the casing on your username and password. This could be the reason why you’re getting login error messages.
If you don’t get a email from the site to reset your password, it’s probably in your spam folder – gmail especially has some fierce spam filters and may also block it from mac mail.
If you got the email and have a new password from the site, make sure you are using it and not the old stored password your browser may be inserting. Refreshing your page before you try to login is also helpful.
If all else fails, please contact email@example.com and we will reset your password manually for you to get in and sorted with great music!!
CAN ANYONE DOWNLOAD MUSIC FROM MAXI?
No. You must be a registered working club or radio dj or an industry professional to access downloads at Maxi.
HOW DO I BECOME A MAXI DJ?
You can click the “Apply” link at the top right of any page or within the blue bar on any of the single’s pages and fill out the application form. Once your information is verified, you will receive notice of your login info to access Maxi downloads.
HOW DO I LOGIN TO MAXI ONCE REGISTERED?
You simply go to the “login” link at the top of any page or within the blue bar on any of the single’s pages and put in your info. You will then be able to download music and add your profile to the site.
HOW DO I REMEMBER MY LOGIN INFO?
Since your username is now your email address all you have to remember is your password. If you’ve forgotten your password, just click the “login” link at the top of any page and follow the “forgot your password” link. Enter your email address and an email with a new temporary password goes out to you immediately. You can then log on to the site, click on “edit profile” at the top of any page and change your password to anything you want. The site does not store your password for security reasons so if you forget it you just follow these simple steps to get back in.
DO I HAVE TO DO FEEDBACK TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC?
Yes. Before you can download music you must log on to the Maxi site and fill out the feedback form for the single you want to download. You no longer have to fill out feedback for individual remixes – just the full single so it’s a lot easier. Once you’ve done feedback for that single you never have to do it again. The Maxi site now remembers you’ve done feedback for that single and will not ask you for it again.
WHY MUST I DO FEEDBACK?
Before you download music you must fill out the simple feedback form. The more info the better but even a “great” or “awful” is cool too. We like to know the mixes you prefer, what you think about the single overall and if you’ll play it. This is invaluable information for Maxi and the labels that produce the music and your comments affect the music you get in the future.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY FEEDBACK?
Your feedback is automatically submitted once you download and goes into a report that Maxi and the labels see. In other words, you are part of the process. THANKS!
WHY ADD A PROFILE TO THE MAXI SITE?
Your profile is some simple info about yourself, that is optional, but appreciated. This info like your name, picture and affiliation may be posted if we make any comments live on the site.
WHY CAN’T I DOWNLOAD WAV FILES ON SOME SINGLES?
After 2 months, wav files are automatically deleted from the Maxi site and we only offer 320 mp3 files. If you need wav files please download singles as soon as you can.
WHY CAN’T I DOWNLOAD LP CUTS?
LP cuts are posted for you to check out what an artist is all about or up to on their current project so you can get the full picture but they are not available for download. There may be an LP or EP available from time to time that you will be able to download.
WHAT DO I DO IF I’M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SITE?
If you are experiencing problems with the site, refreshing the page is always helpful. If it persists please try erasing the cookies and history in your browser, logging out and then trying again. Sometimes restarting your computer is helpful. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need help.
WHY CAN’T YOU JUST SEND ME A YOUSENDIT LINK?
