In a world of indie bands dipping a curious toe into the baffling waters of electronic music, Delphic are post-dance futurist nostalgics from Manchester who have managed to fuse hypnotic beats and crisp electronics straight out of the underground with emotive indie-ness to emerge as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands. This young band, together only a year, is comprised of Richard Boardman, Matthew Cocksedge and James Cook who make all their music on their laptops before throwing live guitars, bass and drums on top with the intention of stitching their songs together into one continuous euphoric DJ set-like onslaught. It also helps to have a genius like Ewan Pearson (The Rapture, Ladytron, Tracey Thorn, Gwen Stefani, Goldfrapp) produce your LP. Check out singles from their debut Acolyte out June 29th and remixes of their single “Counterpoint” .
“The best of both worlds; youthful hunger underwritten by an assurance and craft almost unheard of in debut albums.” – The Times (London)
